EDU 2010 - Introduction to TeachingCredit(s): 3
An overview of the role and responsibilities of the classroom teacher with an emphasis on current teaching strategies and Best Practices in education. The course also provides instruction in classroom management, student learning levels & backgrounds, the workings of a school, the components of a strong lesson plan, incorporating technology into instruction, as well as preparing effectively for the hiring process. (Note: A Criminal Background Check, Membership in STEA, and a Saturday Training Seminar [3-hours] are required for participation in the Field Experience component of this course. Attendance at various out-of-class professional development events will also be required throughout the semester.)
