Scriptwriting Certificate

The curriculum is designed to provide advanced skills needed to work with clients or producers in order to develop ideas, compose a script that meets the requirements for a project and revise a script as needed.  College-level reading and writing skills are necessary for successful completion of this certificate.

Courses in each level (Foundation and Core) must be completed prior to advancing to the next level. Where more than one course is offered within a level, courses may be taken in any sequence.

• Writer for television programming for local stations or national networks  
• Writer of promotional, training or commercial video scripts for a production company that caters to clients
• Writer for news-style programming
• Associate producer for assisting producers and other writers on script revision for on-studio and on-location productions
