NURS 1150 - Fundamentals of NursingCredit(s): 9 An introduction to the practice of nursing, with emphasis on meeting therapeutic nursing care of adults and children with physiological, psychosocial, and perioperative needs, introduction to pharmacotherapeutics, and application of fundamental concepts and the beginning development of nursing competencies. The study and application of nursing skills necessary to meet patient needs across the lifespan are included in this course. Six hours lecture and nine hours clinical/lab experience per week. The students will complete 90 hours of lecture and 135 hours of clinical/lab over the semester.
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into Pellissippi State’s nursing program
Corequisite(s): BIOL 2010 and PSYC 2130
