This course will introduce the importance of soil management to civilization sustainability. Application of soil science fundamentals and adequate land use planning could have alleviated some of the land use disasters that have occurred. Throughout history, cultures declined concurrently with soil degradation due to deforestation and abuse of marginal lands, processes that continue today.
Prerequisite(s): ACT Reading score of 19 or satisfactory placement scores or completion of Learning Support Reading
