MATH 2050 - Applied StatisticsCredit(s): 3 Descriptive statistics, including bivariate trends, concepts of probability and probability distributions, binomial and normal distributions, linear correlation and regression, estimation and significance tests for means, contingency tables, chi-square tests for goodness of fit and independence. Inference for a single mean, single proportion and difference in independent means using confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. Association between categorical variables. A computer laboratory component with statistical computing and widely used spreadsheet software is included.
Prerequisite(s): ACT math score of at least 23 and ACT reading score of at least 19

MATH 1130 or MATH 1710
or
MATH 1730 with a grade of C or better
