NURS 1150 - Fundamentals of Nursing

An introduction to the practice of nursing, with emphasis on meeting therapeutic nursing care of adults and children with physiological, psychosocial, and perioperative needs, introduction to pharmacotherapeutics, and application of fundamental concepts and the beginning development of nursing competencies. The study and application of nursing skills necessary to meet patient needs across the lifespan are included in this course. Six hours lecture and nine hours clinical/lab experience per week.  Due to scheduling availability, the amount of actual clinical hours each week may vary but will average to nine hours a week.

Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into Pellissippi State’s nursing program

Corequisite(s): BIOL 2010  and PSYC 2130
